SAT 2^nd  TO MON 4^th  MAY

First fly out of the year to the International Microlight Exhibition at Popham airfield.

Popham is just 15 miles north of Southampton and the event coincides with the May Bank Holiday. We try to make a weekend of the trip depending on the weather.
The plan is to arrive at Popham by Saturday lunch time, spend the afternoon there then fly on to Sandown on the Isle of Wight
for the evening. The following two days we will be touring the South West around  Dorset, Devon and Somerset returning  back to Headon on the Bank Holiday Monday.

A weekend at Sandown, Isle of Wight.
Always a good weekend where everybody gets together. One of the biggest events of the year for the Microlighting fraternity.

SAT 27^TH JUNE

Headon Fly In & Hangar Bash

Headon Fly-in and open day. Hopefully we will get a nice day and lots of Microlight activity. A chance not only to meet other Microlighters but for members of the public to come along and see what Microlighting is about and even take a trial flight. We will be pleased to discuss any queries you might have about gaining a licence and taking part in the sport. Many different types of Microlight will be on show. Soft drinks and a Barbeque will be available.

The hangar Bash will start around 20:00 with food available, a licensed Bar and plenty of good live music from the Storm Beats.

Camping is available and B&B can be organised by prior arrangement.

The day will start off around 13:00 with the fly-in and the Hangar bash from 19:30 onwards. Tickets for the evening bash will be £5.00 and will be available in advance or on the night.

Our nominated charity this year is the Royal British Legion. In support of our armed forces abroad especially the wounded and families of those who do not return. So come along, have a good time and help us to raise some money for a good cause by making it a success.

FRI 24TH JULY TO SUN 2ND AUG.
A week in North Western France. There are many small airfields and local communities to provide a great flying holiday experience. Lots of local flying or just savour the typically French way of life in this beautiful part of France

BLOIS 2008

A trip to France and one of the main European Ultralight events of the year. The Blois Ultralight festival.

A feast of activity with plenty to see on the European Microlight front. We plan to fly there the day before on the Friday, take in the event on the following day, Saturday. Then fly over to the coast at La Rochelle for the Saturday evening and spend the following week all along the west coast, Brittany and the Normandy beaches. Returning home for the following Sunday.

These are just a few of the main flights planned for the year. Undoubtedly there will be many day and weekend trips organised by individual members. Fly-Ins, Barbeque’s etc. Why not come and see us sometime. Either fly in or drive over and meet some of our members.
