At Microflight our main objective is to train and give tuition to those who either want to learn to fly or gain a knowledge of Microlighting.  We also offer new and used equipment (when available) rAirfieldanging from small aviation equipment right through to complete microlights and self build kits.

Microflight Aviation is a Civil Aviation Authority approved flight training centre based at Headon, Nr. Retford, Notts. We use the latest generation of dual controlled microlight aircraft piloted by an experienced instructor in microlight aviation.

All year round, winter and summer our flying courses offer an enjoyable and exceptionally affordable opportunity for learning to fly. Please ask for our free information brochure on microlight flying and flight training.

The flying School was established in 2000 and the Airfield was improved to make it ideal for training purposes with the main runway widened and extended to 600 metres and a second runway added. You will learn to fly in a friendly club atmosphere with everything you need to learn to fly being available through Microflight from your flying suit to your first aeroplane.

Tuition Costs

There are two general routes to follow for training

 On the school aircraft

On your own aircraft

Initially usage of the school aircraft is the most convenient method, as there is then no need to commit yourself to the cost of an aircraft in the early stages of training. However as training progresses owning your own aircraft will save you a considerable sum of money and will  always be available to use when the school aircraft may not be.

Club Membership

When you start your training you will be asked to join our flying club, RHOMAC (Robin Hood Microlight Aircraft Club). Microlight aircraft do not need a licensed airfield to fly from but it is a requirement that all that fly from a site, belong to a recognised flying club. Meetings are held at one of the local pubs on the first Wednesday of every month for a social gathering and to discuss topical issues, trips etc.

Flying trips are organized to different parts of the country where you will always receive a warm welcome from other microlight clubs.

Barbeques and fly-ins are  regular events at many airfields and are always well attended, weather permitting.

Every year for the last 7 years we have organized a flying holiday abroad which is a joint venture between clubs.Club flight to Slovenia
