Licence Revalidation

Here at Microflight, we undertake general skill tests upon completion of your training and also for licence re-validation purposes.

If you obtained your licence before 1st February 2008 and excluding licences opting for NPPL revalidation, you will need in the previous 13months :

  • 5 hours as pilot in command of a microlight
  • Or 3 hours as pilot in command plus 2 hours with an instructor

A certificate of experience can still be issued if the log book was presented after the 13 months, providing the required 5 hours have been done within the previous validity period

If you obtained your licence after 1st February 2008 or had opted to revalidate under the NPPL revalidation process, then your revalidation requirements are that you must have flown within the preceding 24 months:

  • A minimum of 12 hours flight time
  • Of the 12 hours, at least 6 must have been flown in the preceding 12 months
  • 8 of the 12 hours must have been flown as pilot in command
  • You must have completed at least 12 take-offs and landings
  • You must complete at least one hour of flight training with a qualified flight instructor

Revalidation cannot be completed if presented after 24 months. A GST will have to be conducted, and a certificate of test issued.

Holders of more than one class rating can use the hours of experience in any of the other classes towards revalidating in one class. The only other requirement is you do at least one hour either as pilot in command or one hour of instruction in that class as well.

If you have any log book issues or queries relating to licence validity contact us for help in resolving.

We can also undertake control system training and tests if you wish to fly a different type of microlight whether it is fixed wing or flex wing.

Aircraft permits can also be arranged if required.

If you have been away from flying for some time and wish to undergo additional training or you require some advanced training then contact us to arrange.
